Mike Epps EagleBank Arena Concert reviews
NIN phoned it in
The show at The Joint was a snooze fest. The band itself seemed tired, phoning it in, and the sound levels were too baffled and clean for Mike Epps' best style, which is extremely loud with a little distortion and reverb. Most of the set was pulled from the new album, which didn't translate well live. The songs from the earlier catalog lacked sonic dynamics and sounded canned. My first experience seeing Mike Epps was over 20 years ago in a small nightclub in San Francisco. Until the show at The Joint, I was never bored at a Mike Epps show. I like the album quite a bit but found it tedious live. It was my 6th or 7th time seeing him. For those seeing Mike Epps for the first time, it was probably great with nothing to compare it to. I will definitely see Mike Epps again, but not at The Joint.
